Cabin probably took the longest to record. I spent a long time trying to play it to a click, and automate the tempo to fit how I wanted it to feel. Eventually I ended up scrapping the whole song and starting again, using a live take recorded free form. After that it came together relatively quickly, as the feel was embedded in the song from that point.
The song is about wanting someone to help themselves, and the struggle to help them do so.
lyrics
Lyrics:
If you feel a little broken,
If you feel a little stolen,
Come find me inside, I'll give you all your owed,
I'll lay you on the floor,
I'll take you in the morning,
If you ever feel alone,
If you seen it all before,
Leave yourself behind, and meet me there at dawn,
I'll be moving through the flora,
I'll be stepping though the corner, the corner of your eye.
I'll be hiding in your light,
I'll be hiding out of sight,
If you'd been a little bolder,
Maybe a little more outspoken
One foot at a time, won't ya step into the foreground,
And shake off all the limbs bound,
And wipe away the tears around, the corner of your eye,
I'll be hiding in your light,
I'll be hiding out of sight,
